Institute of Space Technology Undergraduate Admissions
IST Aggregate Calculator 2027
Estimate your Institute of Space Technology undergraduate merit score. Select the program family and qualification route because IST publishes different formulas for Engineering and Science applicants.

Estimate only. This result does not confirm eligibility or admission. Current prospectus, program criteria, campus rules, category and equivalence decisions of Institute of Space Technology take precedence.
How the Institute of Space Technology Aggregate Is Calculated
These tracks follow IST’s 2025 undergraduate prospectus. Confirm the current prospectus because the university can revise admission weightage each year.
IST’s 2025 undergraduate prospectus gives different formulas by program family and qualification. Engineering applicants from FSc/DAE use 20% Matric, 40% FSc Part-I or DAE and 40% entry test; A-Level applicants use 40% equivalence and 60% test. Science applicants use 40% Matric and 60% FSc Part-I, while the listed A-Level science route uses the applicable equivalence result. These are 2025 rules, not a promise that the next admission cycle will be identical.
How to Use the Calculator
- Select the degree group and qualification route that matches your application.
- Enter each score as a percentage from 0 to 100. To convert raw marks, divide marks obtained by total marks and multiply by 100.
- Press Calculate aggregate to see the weighted contribution of each score.
- Check the official admission notice for the same intake before making an application decision.
Eligibility and Merit Are Different
Eligibility is the minimum academic background and score required to apply. Aggregate is the weighted merit score used to compare eligible applicants. Reaching an eligibility threshold does not guarantee selection. Merit can vary by degree, campus, admission category, available seats and year.
Important Qualification Notes
- Use the Part-I or completed-result marks specified for the selected route.
- For A-Level or another foreign qualification, use the official IBCC equivalence percentage where required. Do not convert grades yourself.
- Some degrees have interviews, aptitude tests, subject prerequisites or separate selection formulas not included in this calculator.
- Where a route is not listed, do not assume one of these formulas applies. Consult the admission office or latest prospectus.
Frequently Asked Questions
For comparison, see the NUST calculator.
Why are there separate Engineering and Science options?
IST’s published prospectus assigns different merit weights to the two program families and to FSc/DAE versus A-Level qualifications.
Is this confirmed for the 2026/2027 intake?
The linked official source is the 2025 prospectus. Verify the current-year prospectus before using these weights for a live application.
Can I calculate IBCC equivalence with this tool?
No. Enter the percentage stated on your official equivalence certificate; do not self-convert grades.

IST merit has different programme and qualification routes
The Institute of Space Technology publishes separate merit routes for engineering and science/computing, and the academic inputs change for FSc/DAE and A-Level applicants. In the 2025 prospectus and the 2026 admission cycle, FSc/DAE Engineering uses 20% Matric, 40% FSc Part-I or the specified DAE aggregate, and 40% entry test. A-Level Engineering uses 40% Matric equivalence and 60% test. FSc Science routes use 40% Matric and 60% FSc Part-I; A-Level Science uses Matric equivalence alone. The calculator provides these separate routes rather than forcing one formula on all applicants.
IST does not conduct its own entry test for BS admission. Its official admissions information lists accepted external tests for Engineering; check the current test page for which tests, result periods and score formats are accepted. An accepted test score must be entered in the form requested by IST. This calculator uses percentages and does not transform a raw test score from a different total. Science and computing routes may not assign a test component, so do not enter an entry-test result where the selected formula does not use it.
Eligibility and choosing a degree
IST’s degree options include areas related to aerospace and engineering, space science, remote sensing and GIS, computing and life sciences. Subject prerequisites and minimum marks differ by programme. The admission FAQ directs applicants to the official general eligibility and merit sections for the exact BS requirement. A candidate should check the chosen degree’s required HSSC subjects, whether an equivalence certificate is needed and whether an external test is part of merit. Meeting the minimum threshold does not establish a guaranteed selection score.
FSc applicants should enter Part-I marks where the official route requires them, even if they already hold a completed result. A-Level candidates should use IBCC equivalence where required. DAE candidates should follow the exact diploma-year basis named in the route. When entering a percentage from obtained marks, use the maximum marks that apply to that certificate or year. If a score is unclear, ask the admissions office rather than combining qualification marks from different formats.
Application process and campus planning
IST’s official page describes undergraduate admission announcements once a year and directs applicants to its online admission portal. For the Fall 2026 intake, the public page lists the session schedule; future dates should be checked when a new notice appears. Read the prospectus, admission form instructions, merit criteria, accepted-test page and fee structure before submitting. Keep login details and copies of uploaded documents accessible, and check your application status through the portal.
IST is based in Islamabad. Consider the commute, transport points, accommodation, meals and time needed for a technical or laboratory-based degree. The university publishes campus-specific admissions, financial-aid and fee information; use the current page for actual costs. The available programme list can change between intakes, so do not assume a degree seen in a previous prospectus is open in the next cycle.
Financial planning and academic outcomes
Build a budget from the official current fee schedule and include the application fee, tuition, transport or hostel, books, equipment and personal costs. IST publishes scholarship information for undergraduate students, including merit-based options, but awards have specific ranking and academic conditions and can be revised. Sponsorships may be tied to selected programmes and an organization’s own selection process. Read those terms before treating support as part of your expected budget.
Engineering and space-related science degrees can involve demanding mathematics, physics and practical work. Computing, biotechnology and other science programmes have distinct prerequisites and courses. Compare semester plans, labs, project work and professional pathways on the official programme pages. A merit aggregate cannot predict career placement, and programme title alone does not establish future employment. Use the calculator to understand your admission score, then choose a degree whose subjects and workload fit your strengths.
IST aggregate FAQs
Does IST require its own entry test?
The official BS admission information says IST does not conduct its own test. Engineering applicants should check the current list of accepted external tests and validity conditions.
Which HSSC marks do FSc applicants enter?
The current IST merit information specifies FSc/ICS Part-I marks where required. Use the exact stage and qualification basis shown for your selected programme.
Do A-Level students use the same formula as FSc students?
No. IST publishes separate equivalence-based routes for A-Level applicants. Use the IBCC marks and the route that matches Engineering or Science/Computing.
