How the COMSATS University Islamabad Aggregate Is Calculated
Published BS undergraduate formula: 10% Matric, 40% Intermediate and 50% NTS/NAT. Campus, program and admission-session instructions take precedence.
COMSATS University Islamabad’s official Lahore Campus FAQ lists BS undergraduate merit as 10% Matric, 40% Intermediate and 50% NAT. Accepted tests, eligibility rules and deadlines can vary by campus, program and admission session. This page calculates the standard HSSC-based BS formula. Applicants with A-Level, result-awaiting status, Architecture/Design tests or another special route should follow their campus’s latest instructions instead of assuming this standard track applies.
How to Use the Calculator
- Select the degree group and qualification route that matches your application.
- Enter each score as a percentage from 0 to 100. To convert raw marks, divide marks obtained by total marks and multiply by 100.
- Press Calculate aggregate to see the weighted contribution of each score.
- Check the official admission notice for the same intake before making an application decision.
Eligibility and Merit Are Different
Eligibility is the minimum academic background and score required to apply. Aggregate is the weighted merit score used to compare eligible applicants. Reaching an eligibility threshold does not guarantee selection. Merit can vary by degree, campus, admission category, available seats and year.
Important Qualification Notes
- Use the Part-I or completed-result marks specified for the selected route.
- For A-Level or another foreign qualification, use the official IBCC equivalence percentage where required. Do not convert grades yourself.
- Some degrees have interviews, aptitude tests, subject prerequisites or separate selection formulas not included in this calculator.
- Where a route is not listed, do not assume one of these formulas applies. Consult the admission office or latest prospectus.

How to select a COMSATS merit route
COMSATS University Islamabad offers undergraduate degrees across several campuses and disciplines. The calculator uses the commonly published BS merit structure of 10% Matric, 40% Intermediate and 50% accepted test. Treat it as an estimate for the route described on this page, not as a guarantee that every degree, campus or test category uses identical rules. CUI admissions pages identify NTS NAT or campus admission testing for undergraduate applicants; some programme pages list a different accepted test or special condition.
The admission test field expects a percentage out of 100. NTS NAT results are commonly reported this way, but check whether your campus accepts a previously valid score, conducts its own test or requires a particular NAT subject category. A test result is only useful if it is still valid and matches the degree group. Do not enter the number of correct answers or a test percentile unless CUI’s instructions define the input that way.
Academic eligibility and subject requirements
CUI’s eligibility conditions differ by programme. Official campus FAQs distinguish engineering and architecture from non-engineering degrees when discussing minimum HSSC marks. Degrees can also require particular HSSC subjects, mathematics preparation or an equivalence certificate. Pre-Medical students applying to some computing programmes may have to complete deficiency Mathematics courses after admission. Check the individual programme page for its latest prerequisite and minimum marks before relying on an aggregate estimate.
Applicants with O/A-Level or another foreign qualification should arrange IBCC equivalence for the academic components where required. The calculator uses percentage inputs; it does not translate grades into Pakistani marks. If you are waiting for a final result, read the current admission notice for the provisional route and the date by which final documents must be submitted. Meeting a minimum threshold means you can be considered; it does not guarantee an offer in a competitive programme.
Campus and application planning
COMSATS has multiple campuses, and the programme list, admission dates, test arrangements and fee schedule can vary across them. Use the official CUI admissions portal and the campus page for the degree you are considering. Confirm whether your programme is offered in the intended intake, how to submit preferences, which test to take, what documents to upload and when the merit list will appear. Keep a copy of your application and payment confirmation.
Admissions are generally merit based, but campus capacity and the programme cutoff still matter. Compare the actual curriculum, campus location, transport and accommodation options, laboratory resources and timetable before deciding. A broad label such as “Computer Science” does not tell you whether a campus offers the exact specialization you want. Read the current course page and ask the campus admissions office about a requirement that is not clear in the public notice.
Fees, financial support and study outcomes
Before applying, review the current semester fee and any admission, security or other charges for the selected campus. Add costs for travel, accommodation, meals, books and a personal computer where needed. CUI campuses publish their own notices and support information; scholarship availability and eligibility can change. Do not rely on a past award amount or unofficial fee list when comparing options. Ask the campus whether an award applies to the selected degree and how continued eligibility is assessed.
COMSATS offers programmes in computing, engineering, business, natural sciences, life sciences and other fields. Each requires a different mix of coursework, projects, laboratory or practical work. Career directions follow the discipline and the skills built during the degree, not the university name alone. Check course outlines, internship or project opportunities and any professional accreditation details on the official campus page, then compare them with your interests and preparation.
COMSATS calculator FAQs
Is 10/40/50 guaranteed for every CUI campus?
It is the published common BS structure used by the calculator, but applicants should confirm the current campus and programme notice. Test categories and eligibility conditions can vary.
Can I use an old NAT result?
Only if it remains valid for the admission cycle and CUI accepts that test category for your chosen programme. Check the current campus notice before entering it.
What if my degree has a special subject requirement?
Check the programme’s official eligibility page. The calculator estimates weighted merit and does not test your subject combination or decide whether you meet admission prerequisites.
